Nicely done page! I served with the 12TFW in 69-70. One of our birds from then ( 841) was still blasting the skies in Spain with the 401TFW in 75-78. BD

I arrived at DM in July 66 fresh out of tech school. I was assigned to C-Section as a 3rd wiper to Dick Leitzel and Dale Lee. I was at DM until Sept. 67 when i went to CRAB VN with guys like Mike O'dell, ED Ordatae, Les Mchugh, Rick Price, Frank Puskas, Ed Nodler and a whole bunch more. I too remember the Cedars and the Embers and lots of Boondockers in the canyons. I, to the surprise of many made the USAF a career and retired in 1986. I did return to DM after the CRAB and worked for a great guy named Fred Hoak. Like most lifers, i could go on but unlike most, i won't. I would like to hear from anyone that may remember me and even those that don't. DM was great and so were the guys was there with. Is Dough Lewellen of peoples court one of the Lewellen brothers that played at the Cedars?

Was an Instrument Tech at the beginning of the program at MacDill. Went to F-4 school at Miramar NAS Ca. Navy folks didn't like us USAF folks too well because we always wanted to pull the plug and sink the good ship Miramar. Did the 4453rd trek from MacDill to DM on the road with Errol C., Roger B. and Bud S. What a trip! SAC folks at DM didn't like us TAC invaders too well either. Don't think they ever got use to our parties. Anybody remember the Cedars on Speedway? Was warned to watch out for the women. A lot of husband hunters in Tucson. Hmm! Guess they were right. Been married 33 years to a great little lady I met at the Cedars. Left DM Sept 1968 headed for Danang RVN. You've got a great site. 4453rd has always meant a lot to me. Was great to look back and reminisce. Hi to all. Butch {;-)
